Servo tester question

Hi there!

I'm very new to the world of RC hobbies, and was wondering if I understand the servo tester listed on the wifly website correctly.

I am planning to buy a Turnigy G15 brushless motor (as well as a corresponding ESC), however, I wish to run the motor from a bench power supply (not LiPo batteries). As such I don't really need to control the motor wirelessly.

So my first question is, is it possible to control the brushless motor by using the "Turnigy 760LV-HV Dual Pulse Width Selectable Servo Tester"?

Finally, since I'm planning not to use a radio set, will it still be possible to configure the ESC? (by for instance using a Turnigy BESC Programming Card).

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can use the servo tester as is simulates a joystick. Turning the potentiometer knob will be the same as a throttle movement, and can also be used to program any ESC.
So you can use it as a throttle control.
